In the spirit of Valentine’s Day week, describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about (a friend, family member, or significant person in your life).

 Prompt Response: My idea of a perfect day with someone I care about would be spending the day doing simple things that make us happy. We would start the morning by getting breakfast together and talking without rushing. After that, we could do something fun like going shopping, watching a movie, or going to an arcade. Later, we could go out to eat at a nice restaurant and take pictures to remember the day. At the end of the day, we would relax, listen to music, and just enjoy each other’s company. A perfect day to me is not about doing something expensive, but about making memories and feeling appreciated.

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

  Prompt Response:  A metaphor that I would use to describe my inner struggle is a Tug-of-war. I would use that because I feel like my brain and my heart are at odds right now. I never know what I want and it can get kinda frustrating at times because I don't want to come off as confusing or hard to work with because I change my mind so much. And it's like I want both of these things because they are both beneficial but I can't pick between the two.  Summary: Today in class we read two poems by Emily Dickinson and annotated it with the class.  Reflection:  Today in class I worked on my assignment that is due Friday.
