 Prompt Response: A moment in my life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story was when I realized I had to start taking responsibility for myself instead of waiting for others to guide me. It happened during a time when I felt overwhelmed by school, expectations, and figuring out who I wanted to be. One day, after receiving feedback that challenged me more than I expected, I decided to stop doubting myself and actually put in effort toward my goals. That moment felt like a turning point because it shifted my mindset from feeling stuck to feeling capable. I began to see challenges as opportunities to grow instead of obstacles holding me back. From then on, I started taking my choices more seriously, which made me feel more confident about my future.

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

  Prompt Response:  A metaphor that I would use to describe my inner struggle is a Tug-of-war. I would use that because I feel like my brain and my heart are at odds right now. I never know what I want and it can get kinda frustrating at times because I don't want to come off as confusing or hard to work with because I change my mind so much. And it's like I want both of these things because they are both beneficial but I can't pick between the two.  Summary: Today in class we read two poems by Emily Dickinson and annotated it with the class.  Reflection:  Today in class I worked on my assignment that is due Friday.
