Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

Prompt Response:  My most unforgettable meal is glazed ham. I chose this meal because its the perfect texture not too dry and not too wet. I also like it because on thanksgiving people usually goes for turkey because it's the dish that represents thanksgiving but I prefer ham just because it has a better taste than turkey.  Summary: Today in class we took a quiz on the short story we have been reading in class.  Reflection:  Today in class I learned the theme about the short story.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

Prompt Response:  A time I needed to look out for myself is when I was deciding if I wanted to go to school that day. On that day I had 3 tests for different classes. This made my life easier because I didn't have to make up a test during sail and got extra credit while taking the test.  Summary: Today in class we finished reading the short story.  Reflection:  Today in class I learned the ending to the short story.

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

Prompt Response:  A time I encountered a homeless man is when me and my mom were getting wings for dinner and it was 2 homeless man and one of them asked my mom could she spare any change after she payed. My mom comes out and give him a dollar and the 2nd homeless man asked her for one but she didn't have any cash. He then starts to argue with my mom because he didn't get the dollar, so I asked my mom to give him the food I had in the car already but he didn't want it because he wanted a dollar. I was wondering why he didn't want the food because he probably hadn't ate yet. It made me feel like I wasn't doing enough because all I had was food I could give him.  Summary: Today in class we read a new short story.  Reflection:  today in class I learned the meaning of Tramp.

Write about what you are thankful for.

Prompt Response:  I am thankful for God and the things he has done for me like waking me up every morning, listening to my prayers, and being someone I can talk to. I am also thankful for my parents they have been there every step of my life, they help me get through the hard times in life, and love me even when I do bad. One last thing I am thankful for is my family and friends they are very supportive and support me through all of the things I want to in life.  Summary: Today in class we did vocabulary lesson 3. Reflection:  Today in class I learned new vocabulary words.

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

Prompt Response:  A time when new information changed me is when I had a true friend but they ended being so weird and not what I thought they were. When I was friends with her she would talk about people to me and I could never think she was talking about me behind my back. The plot twist in this situation reshape my understanding because if you have a friend that talks with about other people 9/10 they are talking about you with another person. This also taught me that everyone isn't your friend.  Summary: Today in class we took a group test on the short story "A Rose for Emily" Reflection:  Today in class i learned about deeper things about the short story "A Rose for Emily"

In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Prompt Response:  The most shocking news story I ever heard was a young lady who stabbed her daughter and then called the cops and told them what she did. The mom got a knife and brought her daughter into the bathrooms and stabbed her 20 times or more. she then called 911 and told them what she had done, when the operator asked why she did she said she didn't know why she just did it. This story stood out to me because people really do get out of their mind that bad that they do things with no thought or reason why.  Summary: Today in class we finished up on the short story.  Reflection:  Today in class I learned the shocking ending of the short story "Arose for Emily,"

Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

Prompt Response:  A place that holds deep memories of me is Florida. I choose this place because I would go to Florida kinda like every summer and every time I go their it brings back my childhood and how happy I was then. When I see Florida I see a very up beat place and a lot of fun things to do there so but it also has it bad things like when its hurricane season, and it reflects me because I can be very fun and up beat but sometimes I can also be sad and moody.  Summary: Today in class we read Part 1 and 2 of the story a rose from Emily.  Reflection:  Today in class I learned about a new short story by William Faulkner.

Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

Prompt Response:  One of the vocab words is metamorphosis. I heard this word in a superhero movie I think it was about someone transforming into multiple things and that's kinda how he got his nickname. He got his name because people made a joke about how he couldn't control his powers. This kinda helped me understand the word more but during the time I really didn't understand it because it was like a dark humor joke.  Summary: Today in class we did vocabulary exercises.  Reflection: Today in class I learned new vocabulary words.

Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

Prompt Response:  The parent that has been the strictest when it comes to discipline is my mom. Their approach to discipline has made me better kid and I know right from wrong. It also helped me more easily because I had a problem with that. I feel like my mom helped me prepare for adulthood early in life instead of me learning on my own.  Summary: Today in class we took a text on the Rockpile.  Reflection:  Today in class I learned the best way of process elimination

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

Prompt Response:  Something my parents forbade me from doing was drawing on myself with pen or marker. They set this rule because they said I would get ink poisoning. When my parents first told me this I didn't believe it because I had done it before and I was healthy and nothing has ever happened. Now, I don't put a pen or marker on myself because I feel it's tacky and they have scared me for life.  Summary: Today in class we read a short story titled "Rockpile" Reflection:  Today in class I learned the definition of Rockpile.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

Prompt Response:  A time when learning a new word helped me better my understanding in certain classes. When I use new words in my writing it makes it more advanced for my age and helps me understand the text and question.  Summary: Today in class we did vocabulary lesson 1  Reflection:  Today in class I learned new vocabulary
