Of today’s 15 vocabulary words, which three do you think you will use the most in your speaking and writing this semester? Explain why each word feels useful or powerful to you.

 Prompt Response: Three words I would this semester in my writing would be affectation, adventitious, and altruism because they are all different ways to words or to make my writing a little bit more smart. Affectation feels useful this year because it's a great word If I don't want to use a basic word like a bad attitude. Adventitious is a useful word because I never would think that word would mean accidental I feel like it would make my writing look more up to part and match my grade level writing. And altruism is a useful word because it would go well with the writing we have been doing. 

Summary: today in class we did vocabulary and exercises for the vocab. 

Reflection: today in class I learned new words from the vocab.

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

  Prompt Response:  A metaphor that I would use to describe my inner struggle is a Tug-of-war. I would use that because I feel like my brain and my heart are at odds right now. I never know what I want and it can get kinda frustrating at times because I don't want to come off as confusing or hard to work with because I change my mind so much. And it's like I want both of these things because they are both beneficial but I can't pick between the two.  Summary: Today in class we read two poems by Emily Dickinson and annotated it with the class.  Reflection:  Today in class I worked on my assignment that is due Friday.
